Nursery Manager

This is a great opportunity for an enthusiastic nurseryman/woman to manage a small team of highly motivated and skilled staff and to develop the potential of the Waterperry Nursery. Principal production is in woody and non-woody stock for sale in our on-site planteria. The position involves propagation & production of a wide range of shrubs, trees, herbaceous and alpine plants. The scope of the operation incorporates the attractive herbaceous stock beds which feature in Waterperry's famous ornamental gardens.

The candidate will have proven nursery experience and have relevant horticultural qualifications. Appropriate training will be provided as necessary.

Assistant Retail Manager

This is a new role, responsible for developing the retail offering within the Garden Shop, and managing staff both inside and in the planteria in conjunction with the existing Assistant Manager. You will have similar experience within the Garden Centre sector and be keen to put this to effective use at Waterperry.

Retail Assistant (part-time)

We are looking for a customer-focussed individual with retail experience to work primarily in the Gift section at Waterperry Gardens. This position will involve both weekday and some weekend working.

We are looking for customer-focussed Retail Assistants to work in the Garden Shop and Planteria at weekends. Hortcultural experience would be an advantage, although not essential, but retail experience will be a valuable asset in these roles.

We are looking for a supervisor to be responsible for the efficient running of the teashop operation at weekends, assisting customers, supervising staff, and ensuring that established practices and standards are adhered to.

Teashop Assistant

Our popular teashop requires the right candidate to join the team for two days per week and some additional weekend and bank holidays during the busy season. You will be working with dedicated and enthusiastic team members, providing excellent customer service, assisting with food preparation, and section cleaning.

Kitchen Assistants

Kitchen Assistants are required to help with basic preparation, washing up and kitchen cleaning. This is an important role in the smooth-running of the teashop operation and you will be joining an enthusiastic and supportive team.

Volunteers

Waterperry Gardens is a wonderful place to gain experience in horticulture or to enjoy a stress free day doing a useful job. If you wish to take advantage of this we are able to offer voluntary work in the gardens or on our nurseries. The tasks you will be involved in will be varied but this will involve physical work. The commitment needed both as to the number of hours per week and number of weeks is dependent on your availability and the work availability.
