The Gardens - Orange Tree House

One of the most exciting projects of the past 12 months has been the total renovation of our Orange Tree House.

The Victorian building is home to a Seville Orange Tree which is around a hundred years old.  Miss Beatrix Havergal claimed the memory of the beautiful oranges grown at Waterperry inspired her to set up her famous Ladies Horticultural School there.

That alone was reason enough to save the historic building and precious tree, and after several months of work - and a good deal of money - the Friends of Waterperry - who provided most of the funding money needed - were among the first to be shown around the beautiful new building.

We hope to soon be using this glasshouse  to explain some of the long history of Waterperry.
