Somerville College Drama Society Presents William Shakespeare’s Twelfth Night

Somerville College Drama Society and Sunday Productions, as part of Oxford University Dramatic Society, invite you to join them for Shakespeare’s classic comedy of mistaken identity and unrequited love. This production allows you to witness one of the finest examples of student drama in the country, performed alongside live music, set against the beautiful open-air theatre of Waterperry Gardens.

‘If music be the food of love, play on.’

Believing her brother has died in a storm, Violia decides to work for the lovelorn Duke Orsino in the guise of the man servant Cesario. In her male persona, she attracts the attention of the Duchess Olivia, as well as spurring feelings in Orsino himself. Yet what will happen when her brother Sebastian returns, or when the servant Malvolia is fooled into believing Olivia loves her…

‘And thus the whirligig of time brings in its ravages.’

This is an open-air production, so please bring blankets, cushions and a picnic and come dressed for the weather!

Venue: Waterperry Gardens Amphitheatre

Tickets: £12 (include access to the Gardens)
