DESCRIPTION:Marsilio Ficino\, considered by many to have been the ‘Father\nof the Renaissance’\, called wisdom ‘the contemplation of God’ or ‘God’s\ncontemplation’. We might therefore call it ‘divine wisdom’: a precious\nform of knowledge\, perhaps only apprehended in moments of peace\nand quiet as the ‘still small voice of calm’. \nWisdom will be the focus of the Ficino Retreat this year. Please note\nthe slightly later starting date: the retreat runs from Monday evening\nto Thursday morning at Waterperry\, near Oxford. We study\nin the mornings\, leaving the afternoons free\, with evenings\nof presentations and entertainment. \nRetreat leader Nicholas de Mattos has taught Latin and Greek for 41 years and has found\nreading\, translating and presenting Ficino to be a continual inspiration in his own wider\nesoteric search. \n\n“I will take away the feeling of being at one with others and not inferior\, and the warmth and friendship given from an unknown person.” \n\nFind Out More
