SUMMARY:The Stitched Garden
DESCRIPTION:The gallery is pleased to present an exhibition of textile art inspired by Waterperry Gardens. We are showcasing a new body of work by local artist Rachel Wright following a year long project that captures the essence of Waterperry through her intricate machine-embroidered artworks. Rachel will continue her work through to December and will be demonstrating her techniques in the gallery on the final Thursday of each month for the rest of the year(not December\, date to be confirmed). \nThe exhibition will also feature work by invited guest artists with a focus on the botanical and all things fabulously floral. \nThe exhibition opens on Saturday 19th September\, please do join us and meet Rachel from 2.30pm in the gallery. The show continues through to Sunday November 1st.

No need to book. \nOctober fun at Waterperry Gardens. \nUsing the sheet provided\, look carefully around our gardens to find the sneaky slithering snakes. \nWhen you find one\, place a sticker on the map to mark its location. \nDon’t worry if you can’t find them all\, you’ll still get a prize for taking part! \nOnce you’ve found as many as you can\, take your completed form to the Garden Shop to claim your prize. Please leave all the snakes where you find them so others can enjoy this trail\, too! \nOctober weather can be varied; please dress appropriately for walking around the gardens.

DESCRIPTION:Marsilio Ficino\, considered by many to have been the ‘Father\nof the Renaissance’\, called wisdom ‘the contemplation of God’ or ‘God’s\ncontemplation’. We might therefore call it ‘divine wisdom’: a precious\nform of knowledge\, perhaps only apprehended in moments of peace\nand quiet as the ‘still small voice of calm’. \nWisdom will be the focus of the Ficino Retreat this year. Please note\nthe slightly later starting date: the retreat runs from Monday evening\nto Thursday morning at Waterperry\, near Oxford. DESCRIPTION:For this one weekend\, on Saturday and Sunday from 11.30am until 2.30pm you and your family will have the opportunity to see real reindeer here at Waterperry Gardens. \nYou will be able to get very close and take photos of these beautiful creatures (from the safety of our fencing). \nKnowledgeable handlers will be there to share insightful facts and information about these magical animals with you and the children\, getting you in the mood for the Christmas period. \nPlease be aware these are live animals and are unpredictable. It is unlikely you will be able to touch or feed them. \nThere is no need to book\, but do dress appropriately for the English weather and at busy times expect to queue. \nAdults will have to pay the low-season garden entry to see the reindeer\, and children must be accompanied by an adult. \nReindeer2Hire is a family run business based in ‘Oxfordshire’ and born out of a passion for sharing these beautiful animals with the public to enthral and to educate. Every one of our reindeer is truly loved and cared for to the highest standard. The reindeer live with us for their entire lives on our countryside farm near Oxford. \nWaterperry Gardens has the highest regard for all creatures and we would not be hosting this event if we had any doubts about the way these reindeer are treated and the quality of their lives.
