An ancient, high-quality dessert apple dating back to the middle ages. Primarily a garden variety. Large golden-yellow fruit, flushed red with short, broken rather indistinct red stripes. Flesh is creamy white, firm and fine textured and a juicy, nutty, sweet Blenheim-like flavour. Early fruit can be cooked. A biennial bearer. Pollination Group C. Rootstock M26.
