Sustainability Policy
1. Introduction
Waterperry House and Gardens is a historic estate in Oxfordshire, comprising a retreat centre, ornamental gardens, cultural venue, and visitor destination. The estate includes approximately 20 acres of gardens, a historic house used as a residential retreat venue, a teashop, a plant centre, a gallery, a rural museum, a plant nursery, a heritage orchard and event spaces, and is owned and managed by the educational charity the School of Philosophy and Economic Science.
We recognise our responsibility to protect and enhance the natural environment, support sustainable communities, and ensure that our activities contribute positively to ecological, cultural, and social wellbeing.

- Providing refuge for wildlife, with the gardens acting as a sanctuary for local species
- Continuing restoration and planting projects (e.g. rose gardens, woodland areas) to improve ecological resilience
