About Vivaldi’s Four Seasons

The perfect aperitif before an evening of opera, come and witness a sublime performance set within the magnificent gardens here at Waterperry. This will be the very best in young talent – dancers in perfect balance and poise, perfectly choreographed to match Vivaldi’s masterpiece of musical expression for each season of the year.

Last year our collaboration garnered rave reviews, with Daily Info calling it “a perfect combination of music and dance” and Opera Scene said it was an “extra treat…cleanly interpreted and executed” so expect a very special performance this year!

This production is a collaboration between contemporary dance students from Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music and Dance and young local musicians from Oxfordshire, who will be pairing up with mentors from our Waterperry Ensemble.

About our Double Bill: Acis & Galatea • Dido & Aeneas

This will be a sublime evening in the Waterperry Amphitheatre, after all: this is space in which our festival began 6 years ago. With our very first double bill production this year expect two love stories, two tragedies, both fighting the eternal struggle between light and darkness.

Delight in the music of Handel and Purcell with a superbly talented professional cast and orchestra. Our brand new production will evolve as the evening darkens, think Bloomsbury Group takes a dark Gothic turn.
